SAUERESSIG, a leading provider of innovative solutions for the packaging and décor industries, has launched version 1.2 of its AI-powered image search technology, SAUERESSIG Matches. The updated version offers enhanced features that further accelerate the Design2Print process and significantly increase workflow automation.

SAUERESSIG Matches revolutionises image search by enabling users to find similar or identical images within seconds – without relying on conventional keyword tagging. The solution therefore primarily supports the rapid search for references, helping to optimise design processes and minimise potential sources of error.

Version 1.2 of SAUERESSIG Matches introduces three key new features: an integrated barcode scanner, improved “Region of Interest” detectors and an optimised search function for the décor industry. The barcode scanner makes it possible to search image data for different barcode types, such as EAN or QR codes, and use this information as additional search criteria. This considerably increases the flexibility and precision of the image search.

The detection algorithms used by the “Region of Interest” function have also been significantly improved. Particularly in the packaging industry, the software now recognises not only the overall shape of a print job, but also indexes individual repeats and their details separately. This enhancement enables an even more detailed and precise image search, allowing individual elements within an image to be located specifically.

The search function has also been further optimised for the décor industry. The new version now displays images with the highest level of visual similarity, significantly improving efficiency and accuracy when searching for décor references and designs.
