SAUERESSIG Elastomers invests in new production line // New generation of printing plates for offset and flexo printing

The SAUERESSIG Group has been established in the packaging industry for decades. In addition to steel cores and sleeves for gravure printing as well as printing and embossing tools for flexographic printing, the company offers its customers relevant advice and individual design-to-print management.

SAUERESSIG Elastomers serves the flexo printing industry with innovative solutions for production, prepress and print services. The company has now invested in an innovative production line for elastomer sheets at its Vreden site. “With the new production line, we can produce printing plates in-house, which are extremely durable due to elastomer surfaces and stable polyester carriers”, says Mario Uschok, Sales Director SAUERESSIG Elastomers. “We have thus made an important investment in the new generation of printing tools for offset and flexo printing”.
With an innovative fiber laser, the production line enables the realization of finest structures and exact quality. The special surface finish of the plate ensures excellent ink transfer and prevents swelling of the plate when UV and solvent inks are used. Thanks to its own cutter, the cut-to-size printing plate can be mounted directly at the customer’s site without any further preparatory work. “This ensures that the printing plate is put into operation immediately. For our customer, this means significant savings in costs, capacities and time,” says Uschok. Short throughput times also offer the experts maximum flexibility in production planning.

For SAUERESSIG Elastomers, the investment is also an expansion of production capacity at the Vreden site, where six lasers are now in use. “With the additional production facilities, we are able to supply our customers quickly and flexibly with a product tailored to their specific requirements,” says Uschok. “They complete our diversified product portfolio and position us as a one-stop shop with the main products elastomer sleeve and plate”.
