Last Sunday, 01.10.2023, the Heek-West industrial estate and the new Stroot industrial estate, on the old Hülsta site, opened their doors for the Heek trade show. This event, which was conceived as a kind of open day, gave local companies the opportunity to present themselves to the public and showcase their products and services. One of the companies that presented itself at this trade show was Matthews International with its Saueressig brand, which operates a test centre in Heek on the Maakwi Campus.

Saueressig used the trade show to present itself as an innovative exhibitor and to showcase its wide range of in-house technologies. At the Saueressig stand, a large number of interested Bucher:innen were able to experience the latest innovations in the field of battery production at first hand. The dedicated team around Christof Röring and Norbert Buning-Weddewer was on hand to help the visitors, answer questions and explain the various technologies and applications that were being presented. Not only were the technical aspects explained, but also the many possible applications of the products.

The day was characterised by positive impressions, interesting encounters and promising perspectives for the local economy. The visitors showed great interest in the technologies and solutions presented and were impressed by the innovative strength, the product range and the numerous career opportunities at Matthews International.

In addition to the presentation of local companies, the trade show in Heek offered a wide range of activities for the whole family. There was an extensive supporting programme and activities such as a Ninja Warrior course provided entertainment. There was comedy, talk, DJ and children’s radio on the Radio WMW live stage. Numerous food and drink stalls catered for the visitors’ physical well-being. The trade show in Heek was therefore not only a great opportunity for Saueressig to present itself, but also an event for the whole family.
