Colour Development Reimagined: Our Focus Is on Innovation and Individuality.
Our c.INKTEC team develops customised colour standards and formulations tailored precisely to the requirements and wishes of our customers. At our innovation centre, we have access to a range of laboratory printing presses, allowing us to carry out colour development with precision. Our extensive selection of cylinder sets with different specifications and layouts, combined with a diverse range of printing substrates such as paper, cardboard and film, provides a solid foundation for outstanding colour development.
Thanks to our close cooperation with renowned printing ink suppliers, we have access to a broad portfolio of printing inks and coatings. This partnership enables us to offer a wide variety of colour options while ensuring that we always utilise the latest developments and trends in printing inks.
Our goal is to push the boundaries of colour development and offer our customers unique, customised solutions. With our specialist knowledge and technical expertise, we are committed to meeting our customers’ expectations and bringing their visions to life.
Study with Our Customer Trolli. A New Step in Colour Management: Perfect Colour Reproduction in the Printing Process Is Crucial.
Our customers rely on colour proofs as a visual reference for assessing the desired print result. Epson proofs in particular have become widely established in the printing industry due to their high quality and reliability. In a recent study conducted with our customer Trolli, we focused on improving the accuracy of the Epson proof through targeted colour development under realistic printing conditions.
At the beginning of the study, we used the measurement data from a printed colour wedge as the basis for generating the Epson proof. This colour wedge was printed on our in-house ingenio gravio 90200 laboratory printing press using the specified cylinder and the required substrate. The c.INKTEC colour sample, including solid and halftone areas, was then measured, and the existing orange tone in the data was replaced with the new colour information in order to create a more realistic Epson proof.
The new proof result was compared with the target proof provided by Trolli. Where deviations were identified, we adjusted the data accordingly to achieve a colour impression that matched the customer’s target exactly and could be reproduced on the printing press. The final proof was approved by Trolli, and all relevant information, including the Epson proof, the c.INKTEC colour sample with halftones, as well as the CXF and SCTV data, was provided to the printing company.
The results of the study were extremely satisfactory. The printing company was able to reproduce the colours based on our c.INKTEC colour sample and achieve the same SCTV values on the production press. Through targeted colour development based on realistic printing conditions and the replacement of colour information in the design data, we were able to improve the accuracy of the Epson proof for Trolli. The adjustments to the colour data and the close match between the c.INKTEC sample and the production sample resulted in consistent and precise colour reproduction. The defined objective was therefore successfully achieved.
This study highlights the importance of taking realistic printing conditions into account and making the necessary adjustments to the data in advance in order to establish achievable colour targets and meet the specified requirements. We will continue to build on this process in the future and offer innovative solutions to deliver excellent results for our customers.
